The National Literacy Trust is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2018. The Trust was launched in October 1993 and for 25 years been at the forefront of the campaign to transform the future of the UK’s most disadvantaged young people by improving their literacy levels. To celebrate this landmark year, the Trust has enlisted the help of Clare Balding, who has filmed a special video explaining the Trust's work. Clare begins the video by telling the story of the National Literacy Trust. Then, with a little help from some charismatic children and young people, she goes on to explain how helping children discover a love of reading and writing can transform their futures – particularly those from the poorest communities who are too often left behind.
