Larry Wilson, a retired headteacher from Stretford, Manchester, has had an impressive journey in education, despite a challenging start. Leaving school without qualifications and being told he was "good for nothing," Larry began his career as a gardener. However, his passion for learning eventually led him to pursue a degree with the Open University and earn a PGCE to become a teacher. His mission became clear: to help children enjoy learning in ways that he never had. Larry went on to lead schools in both Stockport and Liverpool.
After retiring, Larry has remained heavily involved in education and community work. He volunteers with AgeUK, working with dementia groups, and serves as a school governor. His passion for learning hasn’t waned, as he has committed himself to learning guitar, dedicating three hours a day, seven days a week. Through his personal experience, he has gained insights into the struggles young people face with learning, particularly those who may not have strong reading skills. Larry also loves reading about history, researching all of the past inhabitants of his house and the events of the Manchester Blitz.
Larry became a Schoolreaders volunteer a few months ago, discovering the opportunity through a local charity event. His personal connection to the importance of education and understanding of the impact some encouragement can have on young children inspired him to join. Volunteering at a primary school four miles from his home, he works with children of various reading abilities, often seeing first-hand how one-to-one reading time with an adult can significantly boost a child’s confidence and enjoyment in reading.
Each week, about 10 children read to Larry, at a school just four miles from his home. He can already tell he’s making a difference. Children eagerly share how a story ended or are excited to read to him again. One girl was thrilled to learn that if she lived on Mercury, she’d have a birthday every 88 days—a fun fact Larry shared, illustrating his engaging approach to reading sessions.
For Larry, what he enjoys the most about being a Schoolreaders volunteer is the warm welcome he receives from the children. Their enthusiasm and smiles reinforce the value of his contributions, making his volunteer work deeply fulfilling.
His favourite part? Being greeted in the morning with “Can I please read with you today?”.

Smaller and more affordable than full-sized dolls, sex doll torsos are ideal for couples who are new to sex dolls. These torsos offer the same realism and tactile experience as larger dolls without the complexity of managing a full-sized partner. Many couples start with torsos to explore the novelty of having a doll as part of their intimate life, then decide to upgrade to a full-sized doll or robot sex doll as they become more comfortable. Torso dolls are easy to use, store, and maintain, making them a practical choice for beginners.
This community aspect can be particularly valuable for those who may feel isolated in their offline lives, providing a space where tifa sexdoll can connect, collaborate, and celebrate their creativity.
