SPECSAVERS
The Race for Reading 2024 is kindly sponsored by Specsavers.
Specsavers offers tailored eyecare for children, including eye tests, contact lenses and a wide selection of glasses tailored to suit individual needs and styles. As 80% of what is taught in schools is presented visually, Specsavers understands the importance of children’s eye health in their development journey.
Specsavers opticians are specially trained to test children’s eyes and guide parents/guardians through the process, prioritising eye health and visual development. By supporting children’s sight from an early age, Specsavers enables them to succeed at school, socially and at sports so that they can have a bright and fulfilling future.
TRITAX BIG BOX
Since 2019, Schoolreaders has partnered with Tritax Big Box REIT Plc, specialist investors in large logistics warehouse assets throughout the UK. Tritax Big Box was Schoolreaders’ first corporate partner and renewed its partnership in 2023 to support children in regions where their assets are based. Petrina Austin, Head of Asset Management at Tritax Big Box, comments: “Children who enter secondary school as confident readers are empowered to thrive. Conversely, poor literacy can have lifelong – even cross-generational – consequences. We’re delighted to support Schoolreaders, and its network of inspirational volunteers, in enhancing young people’s lives and academic prospects – bringing long-term benefits to communities across the UK.”
TIMES TABLES ROCK STARS
Our partnership with Times Tables Rock Stars started when they became the main sponsor for our 2019 'Be a Superstar for Schoolreaders’ campaign. TTRS, which offers award-winning programmes for times tables practice across several different platforms, have now generously pledged to continue their support this year. Nicola Reddy of TTRS says 'Whilst we are very passionate about maths, we also believe in the power of being literate and the joy of reading. Literacy is the foundation for all disciplines. Without the ability to read, write and think, other subject areas, such as maths, become a bigger challenge for students'.
